Over the years, she expanded her skill set to encompass construction work, eventually founding her own construction business, which has provided employment opportunities for numerous Latino immigrants.
In 2019, Galarza founded “Pasa La Voz” Savannah, a Facebook page designed to keep the Latino community informed about essential news and events in the region. This grassroots initiative has since evolved into a full-fledged news media platform, including a website, multiple social media channels, and a magazine. Through “Pasa La Voz” Savannah, Elizabeth has spearheaded impactful initiatives, including food and clothes drives, free English and budgeting classes, as well as cultural festivals, all geared towards promoting Latino culture and traditions.
Galarza’s extraordinary work has garnered recognition from philanthropic organizations, notably the Pivot Fund for Equitable Journalism. In March 2023, “Pasa La Voz” Savannah merged with “Nuestro Estado” in Charleston, giving rise to “Pasa La Voz Noticias.” This expansion has broadened Elizabeth’s reach, now impacting individuals across both Savannah, GA, and Charleston, SC.
Beyond her entrepreneurial endeavors, Elizabeth actively contributes to various organizations and initiatives. She serves as a prominent member and Chair of the Metropolitan Savannah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, actively participates in the City of Savannah’s “HOLA Taskforce,” and passionately mentors individuals within the MSHCC’s YEA! Mentorship program.
